The most important function of the miniature was illustration.

It gave a visual image to the literary plot, making it more enjoyable and easier to understand. The miniature became a marriage of artistic and poetic languages, and resonated deeply and sincerely with poetry.

“In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful” is a commonly heard phrase among Muslims; it is used before starting different forms of work or activities. This calligraphy was produced by Zulriasatain, a master calligrapher in Iran. The artist then drew in her design, adding beautiful shape to the negative part of the work. A tasheer border surrounds it.
